The creator of Ginastica Natural, Professor Alvaro Romano, met Rolls Gracie on a surf trip to Peru. He began training Jiu-Jitsu upon his return to Brazil, at the invitation of the legendary and late Master Rolls Gracie, at the Gracie Academy located in Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro, in 1979.

Professor Alvaro Romano enters Gama Filho University, in Rio de Janeiro, to obtain his degree in Physical Education.

Seeking to improve his performance, Professor Alvaro Romano begins to practice Hatha Yoga and study breathing techniques to apply in his training and then to his students and athletes.

Already graduated in Physical Education from the University, Romano begins research on training, seeking greater practical experience in triathlon events to test breathing techniques in situations that require great effort and mental control.
EASTERN TECHNIQUES
Romano begins to practice classes on Eastern techniques based on animal movements and develops his own training with his background as a Jiu-Jitsu fighter.
INFLUENCES OF JIU-JITSU GROUND MOVEMENTS
During these years with daily training, he develops exercises with ground movements, combined with outdoor activities, and begins to apply this training to top Jiu-Jitsu fighters, Vale Tudo, and Surf, as well as athletes from different sports.
THE FIRST CLASSES
Initially named "movimentação corporal," the method is already well-known in Rio de Janeiro, and classes begin to be taught at Akxe Academy, considered at the time the largest academy in Latin America and the main one in Rio de Janeiro.
GINASTICA NATURAL IS CREATED
The brand Ginástica Natural is created, and for the first time, it is presented in courses, congresses, and lectures in Brazil.
GINASTICA NATURAL AND ITS CONNECTION WITH PHYSIOTHERAPY
After meeting physiotherapist Nilton Petrone, he begins to associate his work in physiotherapy, study natural methods, and develop his methodology.
He begins a deep study of movements, their applications, within Estácio de Sá University, with contributions from leading professionals in biomechanics, physiology, psychomotricity, and the history of physical education.
VISUAL IDENTITY
The method is already recognized, and the first visual identity is created.
THE FIRST VIDEOS AND THE CALL-UP TO THE NATIONAL JIU-JITSU TEAM
The first videos are produced. Through Ginástica Natural and its connection with Jiu-Jitsu, the creator of the method, Professor Alvaro Romano, is called up to be the physical trainer of the national team.

Ginástica Natural participates for the first time at the Technical University of Lisbon, with a course taught by Professor Alvaro Romano, where he presents the work to leading experts in human movement.
